Welcome to Pell Frischmann

The engineering profession was always a natural choice for me owing to my father's being a professional building contractor and my brother choosing the architectural career path. In a way, my role as a structural engineer completes the trinity of the building world.

As a recent arrival at Pell Frischmann, I didn't quite know what to expect having graduated from City University armed only with an M.Eng. Like many academic institutions, City University has a long relationship with Pell Frischmann owing to the apprenticeship philosophy of the firm. I'm learning the ropes on the job now, being involved with such schemes as BSF Westminster - a major PFI scheme fornewschools in the area.

At the end of last year I was proud to be awarded the ICE Student Prize, based on the best overall performance of an individual in their final 2 years. It was nice to have all the hard work pay off in the end.

The drawing office in which I'm now based is a bizarre yet interesting place where CAD technicians and engineers engage in heated (yet amusing) academic exchanges on which building code or protocol to use. Normally this would seem disruptive but actually a great learning curve and really very light hearted.
