Pell Frischmann Brown Beech Consulting Engineers Ltd is our specialist in-house long-span bridge division. We have proven expertise in the provision of all aspects of bridge design and construction services and have undertaken diverse commissions for a wide range of local authorities, government departments and private sector clients both in the UK and overseas. PFBB brings together an established and highly experienced team of engineers, designers and support staff specialising in long-span bridge projects.

Increasing volumes of traffic over the first Bosphorus Bridge resulted a in a decision to construct a new suspension structure 5KM from the original bridge. It is a toll bridge, and a toll plaza with toll booths is situated before the bridge on the European side. Toll is paid for one way passing from the European side to the Asian side. read more

The Messina Crossing joins the island of Sicily to mainland Italy. The proposed bridge is designed to carry road and rail and will replace the existing ferries. Messina is a suspension bridge which when completed will be the longest suspension bridge in the world, with a main span of 3,300m. We were responsible for the concept design of the bridge. read more

The original suspension bridge, which was completed in 1966, was upgraded to carry a train track through the truss deck and expand the carriageway from five lanes to six lanes. The bridge is a suspension bridge with steel truss deck and steel towers. Cables are constructed from steel wire with concrete gravity anchors. read more
