Highways
Our expertise extends from the inception to completion of major and minor highway schemes. We have developed a range of expertise while on major highway projects and local roads including:
- Traffic
- Minimum environmental impact
- Safety
- Procedural, consultation and public enquiry
- Financial and construction requirements
- Concept to Detailed Design
We have successfully applied value engineering techniques to promote "best value" within tight budgetary constraints.
Major projects include the M1-A1 Link Road DFBO, A1 Wetherby Bypass, M6 Widening and Highway 2000 in Jamaica.
Featured Projects
The 80km motorway in Jamaica extended westwards from the capital Kingston to Williamsfield and then on to Montego Bay on the north coast. Innovative design to overcome the difficult terrain and unpredictable weather conditions also allowed the highway to be to open to traffic 18 months after the commencement of design. In 2007 it was ‘Highly Commended’ for the Quality in Construction Award, for ‘International Performance’. read more

A 3.8km duel carriageway road running between Lindale Bypass and Barrow Banks. The inclusion of 3 new underpasses will remove 90% of traffic, resulting in fewer accidents in the area. The scheme is entirely within the Lake District National Park and is considered as environmentally sensitive. The scheme achieved an ‘Excellent’ CEEQUAL rating and in 2009 it went on to win ICE, North West Awards, Merit Award. read more
