Featured Projects
In 1995 Pell Frischmann we were commissioned by Network Rail (formerly Railtrack) with regard the structural integrity of the Forth Bridge. The Forth Bridge is a Category A Listed structure and an iconic bridge that draws many tourists. As such it was imperative that any required works identified should be the minimum possible with regard visual impact. We inspected structural members, using rope access rather than scaffold, to verify member dimension, section sizes and condition. This information was then used to model the structure and determine member forces. read more
Repair and strengthening of a 120-year old bridge. At 3.5km long this is still one of the longest rail bridges in the world making this a highly complex project. In recognition of the project’s success, it was given awards from the Saltire Society and the BCIA. read more
Divided into two sections; a 85km road and a bridge over 1km in length across the river Ganga. The bridge is composed of two parallel bridges, and is constructed with precast segmental cantilever construction technology with epoxy-glued joints and internal bonded pre-stressing. read more
Located between the towns of Canakkale and Kilitbahir (southwest of Istanbul). The 600m long viaduct contains 60m spans and rises at approximately 4% gradient. The reinforced concrete deck is supported by two longitudinal steel box beams which are shear connected. The boxes are interconnected with steel crossbeams and support external cantilevers. read more
Inspection, feasibility, assessment and refurbishment of a single span, listed swing bridge as part of a much larger regeneration effort for the city of Hull. The project was "Highly Commended" at the Historic Bridge and Infrastructure Awards 2007. read more
