Pell Frischmann provide engineering consultancy services for the major development of London City Airport that is currently ongoing.

Pell Frischmann, are part of the integrated City Airport Development Programme (CADP) team with LCY and our delivery partner, Bechtel, delivering the multi-million-pound development programme which includes plans to expand the existing terminal, build a new three-storey passenger pier, provision of seven new aircraft stands as well as a new aircraft taxi lane and revamping landside facilities.

To date Pell Frischmann have delivered:

  • icon-arrowNew Aircraft Stands - this includes design of stand layouts and incorporates future-proofing measures and critical safety and efficiency functions such as Safety Barriers, Fixed Electrical Ground Power (FEGP), Fire Hydrants, Stand Number Indicators (SNI), Feeder Pillars, Apron Floodlighting, Tug Charging Units, and Stand Entry Guidance Systems (SEGS).
  • icon-arrowAeronautical Ground Lighting (AGL) - this consists of the design of all the AGL associated with the expansion of the airside infrastructure and includes stop bar lights, taxiway centreline lights, blue edge lights, tug guidance lights, illuminated signs, runway guard lights, AGL control and monitoring system, and related pits &ducts.
  • icon-arrowAirfield Infrastructure Works - this comprises design of taxiway links (Echo, Foxtrot and Kilo) to provide flexibility for aircraft access to the runway and airside drainage. Design includes a value engineered pavement design and drainage design with pollution control measures and outflow restrictions that necessitate provision of an attenuation tank.

Pell Frischmann is also actively involved in the design of the landside revamping scheme which comprises of the realignment of Hartman Road, provision of Taxi Feeders, Passenger Car Parks, eastern gate landscaping, and design of associated utilities.
