Global acclaim for Zig Zag

The Zig Zag building in Victoria Street has received global acclaim, winning the World Architecture Festival (WAF) Office Building of the Year award for 2016.

The building itself was part of a joint project to replace Kingsgate House, a large ground-scraper from the 1960s, as part of Land Securitiesí work to regenerate Victoria and make it a destination for the future.

The site was surrounded by other buildings, London Underground tunnels, and a major road, which we worked to ensure would remain unaffected by the building while maximising the usable space across the site. This saw the basement reach within 1 metre of the Victorian railways tunnel walls ñ two metres closer than London Underground had thought possible.

The project has become a flagship for the industry-leading work Pell Frischmann does, and for the ambitious engineering we make possible. This award goes to show that our unique talent for enabling the vision of architects is being recognised internationally.
