Job Title: Technical Director, Civil Structures
Reports to: Divisional Director
Direct Reports: Associate and Principal Engineers
Main Purpose of the Job
As a Technical Director your main responsibilities will include: team leadership, technical approval, commercial performance and business development. You will lead the civil structures teams to deliver success in terms of quality and service. You will be responsible for the generation of new business and the commercial success of your teams’ projects. You will be a Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer with at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role. The role is located in either our London or Bishops Stortford offices.
Main Duties and Responsibilities;
Implement the business: policies, objectives and strategy
Training and development of your team
Lead project design teams to deliver success in terms of quality, programme and costs.
Check and approve outputs for technical accuracy
Promote the commercial success of your teams’ projects
Drive business development to meet business plan targets
Client Relationship Management
Preparation of tender submissions
Keep all stakeholders fully informed of any technical issues and/or associated potential risks to the schemes as they arise
Manage difficult and sensitive situations using sound, independent judgement within general policy and legal guidelines
