Graduate Transport Planner - Birmingham

We are looking for a Graduate Transport Planner to join a growing division and help assist with the technical delivery of a variety of transport related projects. Projects you will be working on are for local and regional clients such as Highways England, Network Rail and various councils.

 Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide support on a range of transport planning projects, including the preparation of transport assessments and travel plans to support planning applications
  • Undertaking traffic and junction modelling
  • Conducting research to support planning and transport projects, including desktop research, policy review work and meetings with stakeholders/partners as appropriate
  • Undertaking site visits and surveys and managing sub-consultants as appropriate
  • Prepare site access drawings and access feasibility studies

  

Qualifications

  • Degree in Transport, Mathematics, Geography, Civil Engineering, Planning or a related subject (essential)
  • MSc in Transport Planning/Engineering would be highly regarded

Desirable Skills/Experience

  • Up to 2 years Transport Planning experience 
  • Experience working within a consultancy
  • Knowledge of highway / junction design at least at the concept design level 
  • Arcady, Picady, LinSig, AutoCAD or GIS would be beneficial
  • Experience of writing transport statements, assessments & travel plans
  • Efficient communication skills and excellent level of written and spoken English
