Main Purpose of the Job

 

Pell Frischmann are creating a new office in Edinburgh and are looking for experienced and energetic candidates. We are seeking a Civils & Infrastructure Associate/Associate Director to provide project leadership of various technical teams in the Roads, Traffic, Transportation and general civil engineering fields. A key focus will be the provision of technical support and guidance to a team of consultant engineers.  Reporting to the Divisional Director of the relevant sector, the role holder will be responsible for delivering projects of varying scale and complexity to programme and budget.  

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities;

 

  • Development, leadership and delivery of the sector business plan for Edinburgh including management of significant client base both current and future

  • Take a prominent role in delivering the sector business plan

  • Technical support to team of consulting engineers

  • Co-ordination of multi-disciplinary resources and ensuring staff capabilities are at appropriate levels

  • Identify potential clients and liaise with the Divisional Director to define market and client development strategies

  • Ensure bids submitted reflect client requirements and are prepared and submitted in compliance with PF procedures and incorporate legal and commercial reviews as appropriate

  • Mobilise resources from supporting departments as required

  • Develop and maintain departmental systems and procedures

  • Promote close working across the group

  • Line management responsibility for a team. Responsible for employee development through the Performance Development Review (PDR) process. Ensuring Training Plans are completed and followed up as appropriate

 

What Qualifications, Experience & Skills are Essential or Preferred to be successful in the role? Examples to consider / add to below;

· Degree Level Civil Engineer

 

· Chartered CEng or IEng

Experience

·  Minimum 10 years post qualification experience – in Roads, Traffic, Transportation and general civil engineering

 

· 2-5 years’ team leadership
